Tonight was a full moon,
but not just any moon.
Tonight, it looked like it was dipped
in chocolate,
and I thought about you.
Tonight, it looked like the sky melted
and drizzled across the moon
the craters like fingerprints biting
the tip of something sweet enough
to melt.
Somewhere between teeth and the
amount of time it takes for silence
to fill with something meaningful.
Just like me,
and the amount of time
it takes for you to melt in my arms
warm, inviting.
Lost in a silhouette whose only
language is shape.
No different than the drip of chocolate
on the side of your neck.
Tonight, when I looked up at the moon.
I stopped and thought about you.
God and the heavens above
are capable of great things,
but the trail of chocolate that drips
from the stars all point to you.
