Party

Her love was a party
with comfortable chairs
and a decorative cake.

I was a balloon on a string,
with nowhere to go
tongue-tied,
her face reflective on top of mine.

Her tongue, my favorite groove,
my lips entwined with hers.
Her rhythm, my blues
we danced without music,
we two-stepped all night long.
