Crackle

I found solace in the way you crackle.
You flicker without hesitation,
You’ve taken my breath and replaced
It with smoke.
I’ve swallowed the promise of a prayer,
Whose wings have melted
In mid-flight.
We are but flesh.
Your wounds are now
Mine.
