You remind me that the simplest
things are some of the smallest.
You center me, disappearing
your face in mine.
Passionate and warm,
I’ve replaced your eyes with pepperoni
and covered you with cheese.
The quickest way to my heart,
my taste adjacent to the way you love.
Melted pieces of cheese stretched
and pulled.
Pieces of sausage fall
and roll toward the edge of the earth.
You center me, disappearing
your face in mine.
Although life is short,
you make the moments seem longer.
I love the way you taste.
I love the way you fill me up.
