One of the best things about your smile is that no matter where you stand,
when I look in your direction, it’s always focused solely on me.
It surprises me every time.
To walk the coast of your lips, to drift into an ocean of white.
Opening up is one of life’s greatest mysteries.
Dragging yourself along that same fault line
you promised never to cross again.
At what point do you realize how fragile trust truly is?
At what point does it leave?
At what point does it come back?
Some of life’s greatest moments come from that same fear of the unknown.
Even when it’s never spoken between two people, it is perfectly understood
No different than the feeling of someone staring at you,
or the spark of a connection you hope doesn’t end like the last.
No matter how deep the trench is dug, it too runs along the same fault.
To look up and see you smile at me
sends a jolt of electricity through me.
To feel, in a single moment, how everything can become so fragile.
To know that, at any moment, I could lose you forever
or worse, lose myself.
But along the lines of that same fault,
I won’t regret the loss of you if that time comes,
because I carry you with me always.
I’ve always known I was meant for more
than standing in one spot, day in and day out.
Who would’ve known that you
would be the one jolt that knocked me off my feet
and changed everything?
